A man who was arrested by gardaí in connection with the fatal explosion in Creeslough has been released without charge.
The man, aged in his 60s, was arrested by garda yesterday after voluntarily presenting himself to Dundalk garda station.
He was subsequently arrested for alleged offences contrary to the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997.
Gardaí have this morning confirmed that the man has been released without charge.
A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
“The investigation into the fatal explosion at a building complex in Creeslough, Co. Donegal is ongoing, co-ordinated from Milford Garda station where an Incident Room has been established under the direction of a Senior Investigating Officer,” a spokesperson said.
“The investigation continues to be led by local Gardaí, in Donegal Division supported by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI) and other agencies including the Health and Safety Authority and the Commission for the Regulation of Utilities (CRU).”
Ten people lost their lives in the explosion, which ripped through an Applegreen service station and a nearby apartment block in the village on October 7, 2022.
