Gardaí have advised that the N15 at Liscooley, between Castlefin and Killygordon, remains closed following a serious overnight crash.

The collision, involving two vehicles, occurred just inside the 50Kph zone on the Killygordon side of the village at approximately 10:00 pm.

It is understood there are several casualties from both cars, a number of whom were critically injured.

Gardaí said an update will be provided later this morning.

There is currently a diversion from Castlefin over the R2534 to Ringsend Crossroads, on to the L3004 onto Liscooley or Ballybofey.

There is also a diversion from the Go Filling Station at Liscooley towards L3044, and on to Crossroads and via Killygordon, back to the N15.

Diversion signs are in place.
