A local Councillor said he was ‘absolutely sickened’ after seeing the latest act of vandalism to community property in Buncrana.

Cllr Jack Murray was speaking after the mosaic at the Amazing Grace Viewing Point at the Fishing Greens on the town’s shorefront.

“Absolutely sickened to be sent a photo of this vandalism of the mosaic at the Amazing Grace Viewing Point at the Fishing Greens,” he said.

“This is a much loved location and has been enjoyed by locals and visitors alike for over a decade.”

Cllr Murray urged that anyone who may have seen this happening to come forward.

“It’s an attack on Buncrana, the local community and, particularly, the volunteers who do so much to enhance it,” he concluded.

Any relevant information may be passed to Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540. The Garda Confidential Line may also be contacted on 1800 666 111.
