Finn Valley mourns passing of beloved mum, Leanne Browne

The peaceful death has been announced of Leanne Browne (née Hughes), a beloved mum of four from Castlefin and recently of Ballybofey.

Leanne passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital in the early hours of this morning, surrounded by her loving family, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Throughout the years Leanne has inspired many with her strength and love for her family.

In 2023 she held a fundraiser to have a dream holiday to make lasting memories with her husband Ciaran and children, Luke, Jodie, Conor and Ryan. The ‘Leanne’s Wish’ campaign raised upwards of €37,000 with a huge outpouring of support from the local community and beyond.

Leanne was a talented person with a passion for beauty. She worked in several local businesses, including China Tower and the Oriental Restaurants in the Twin Towns, and was also a skilled hairdresser and qualified makeup artist.

She will be dearly missed by her husband and children, parents Josie and Fintan, sisters Louise (Christopher), Jenny (Simon), father-in-law Jim, mother-in-law Sally, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home on Friday Nov 29th from 7pm. Funeral leaving from her home on Sunday, Dec 1st at 10.15am for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am. Interment in Drumboe cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish Webcam at https://www.churchservices.tv/stranorlar

Family flowers only please,donations in lieu of flowers if so desired to the Oncology/ Hematology Ward, Letterkenny Hospital, c/o of any family member.

The House is Strictly Private to family and close friends only please.
