Election 2024: Pearse Doherty tops Letterkenny tally with 23.4%

Sinn Fein’s Pearse Doherty has romped home in the tallies in the Letterkenny constituency.

The Gaoth Dobhair man pulled in 23.4% of the vote with his running mate Padraig MacLochlainn next in line taking 13.6% of the vote.

Next in line is Fianna Fail’s Charlie McConlaogue just behind on 13.5% of the vote.

Letterkenny also has its fair share of homes with defective blocks and that was reflected in the Letterkenny area with the 100% Redress Party candidate Charles Ward grabbing 12.4% of the vote.

Fine Gael’s Nikki Bradley, from Milford but with an office in Letterkenny, polled a total of 8%.

Pat the Cope Gallagher is next with 6.4% while Aontu’s Mary T Sweeney polled a total of 6.1% of the Letterkenny tally.

Independent candidate Thomas Pringle took 3.4% 0f the tally in Letetrkenny while Green Party candidate, a native of Letterkenny, took 2.6% of the poll.

The total votes cast in the Letterkenny constituency was 12,794.
