Former Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has lost his seat in the Wicklow consistency.

The Fianna Fáil candidate lost out on the fourth seat to Fine Gael’s Edward Timmons.

Donnelly has been Health Minister since 2020.

He isn’t the only Minister to be ousted in this election – Green Party’s Catherine Martin, who was Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, lost her seat in Dublin Rathdown yesterday evening.

As counts resume in some areas this morning, Fianna Fáil has secured 43 seats so far.
