Heavy traffic expected on Friday at Letterkenny Christmas lights event

Gardaí are reminding motorists that large crowds attending Friday’s Christmas lights event on the outskirts of Letterkenny will lead to heavy traffic.

The annual Tom Giblin Christmas/Nativity lights event in aid of multiple charities will kick off at 6pm in Lisnennan.

“The event usually draws quite a large crowd in, so we want all road users to be aware that traffic may be heavy in the area around that time,” Garda Grainne Doherty said.

“We ask all who plan on attending to please park in a responsible manner and not to block access for residents in the area or for the emergency services. Do not park in an illegal manner. Gardaí will be there to manage the traffic on the evening. Please obey all instructions given by them.”

For more information, go to the Tom Giblin Nativity/Christmas Lights Facebook page.
