Boil water notice issued for 3,500 homes in Glenties and Ardara

A boil water notice has been issued for over 3,000 homes in Glenties and Ardara, as a result of Storm Darragh.

Uisce Eireann issued the notice this afternoon, after what the utility provider described as “increased turbidity” in the water supply.

The amount of rainfall last night due to Storm Darragh is understood to have impacted the water treatment facility that serves Glenties, Ardara and the surrounding areas.

This boil notice comes as a number of homes in Glenties and Ardara are also currently without water supply, due to the interuptions at the local water treatment facility.
