The Cúnamh Finn Valley charity has been selected to share a slice of the AIB Community €1 Million Fund.

The voluntary organisation was founded in 1982 to raise funds for local emergencies and for families who find themselves in extreme difficulties.

The name Cúnamh translates to mean ‘aid, help or assistance’ and is funded mainly by its charity shop in Stranorlar (main pic).

It will benefit to the tune of €6,500 from the AIB fund to help it continue its operations.

Terry O’Reilly is the chairman of Cúnamh.

“We are so happy to have received this donation from the AIB Community Fund which will be vital for us to continue the services that we provide to the community,” he said.

“During these challenging times, we need support now more than ever. And, we have seen first hand the difference this funding has had on local organisations who received support last year. The fact that AIB employees nominated us makes it particularly special because it means the work we are doing in the community is making a difference. I want to thank everyone who is involved in Cunamh Finn Valley and a particular thank you to AIB for establishing this hugely beneficial fund.”

For more information on Cúnamh, call 0876510810 or go to their Facebook page.
