Sad passing of former Lifestart Support Worker, Philomena ‘Phil’ Doherty

The death took place at Letterkenny University Hospital yesterday of former Lifestart Services Family Support Worker, Philomena ‘Phil’ Doherty (née Killen).

Late of Magherabuoy, Killygordon, she was well known and highly respected throughout the county. 

A spokesperson for Lifestart this evening described Ms Doherty as a ‘lovely lady.’

“It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our former colleague and friend, Phil Doherty,” a statement read.

“Phil was a lovely lady who fought a courageous battle, always more worried for everyone else than herself. Phil adored her children, grandchildren and extended family and our thoughts and prayers are with them all at this very sad time.”

Beloved wife of the late Packie, she is the much loved mother of Gary, Lisa and Michelle. Ms Dohety is also a mother-in-law of Louise, Gerard and James, dearly loved grandmother of Darragh, Aoife, Conor, Daimhín, Charlie, Éala and Joni and sister of Delma, Maura, Deirdre, Liam, Noeleen, Sean and Martina.

Reposing at her home today from 12 noon, with the funeral leaving there on Tuesday (December 10th) at 11.20a.m. for Requiem Mass in St Mary`s Church, Castlefin at 12 noon.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family time please from 10p.m. to 11a.m.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing son, daughters, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and family circle.

Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul.
