A snow and ice warning has been issued for Donegal tonight ahead of a “sharp to severe frost”.
Motorists will be advised to take extra care as temperatures drop to lows of -3C.
Tonight (Tuesday) will be very cold, dry and calm with a chance of fog too.
The status yellow low temperature/ice warning is in place from 8pm today until 11am tomorrow.
Wednesday will start off cold with only a small rise in temperature.
Met Eireann is forecasting a “dry but generally quite dull day” tomorrow with overnight mist and fog stubborn to clear some areas. “Cold with highest temperatures 1 to 4 degrees, in a light northeast breeze,” is Wednesday’s forecasts.
The outlook for the week ahead is also for dry weather with light winds but cold, with frost, ice and possible fog.
“Current indications suggest that the weekend will turn showery with milder conditions than of late,” said Met Eireann.
