Ghaoth Dobhair Credit Union ranked sixth best in Ireland for loan growth

Ghaoth Dobhair Teoranta is celebrating after being ranked No 6 Credit Union in Ireland for loan growth.

A spokesperson for the credit union said this amazing achievement and growth wouldn’t have been possible with the continued support from our members, staff, board and various committees.

The branch, which has been opened for more than 50 years, boasts more than 7,500 members in the local community and growing!

A spokesperson revealed “An accomplishment, marked by a growth rate of 23% illustrates the unwavering support from our community and our commitment to be open and here in the community to provide financial services where traditional banks have left the area. 

“Our assets have reached an impressive €42.2 million, managed by a committed team of 13 staff members across our two branches – the main branch in Ghaoth Dobhair and a sub-branch in Falcarragh.

“Celebrating 52 years of service with a dedicated membership of 7,650 individuals, our credit union continues to thrive, serving the vibrant communities of Gweedore, Cloughaneely, and the Rosses areas.

“Our extensive range of products caters to the needs of our members, including car loans, home improvement loans, student loans, personal loans, green loans, holiday loans, Christmas loans, back-to-school loans, secure loans, loan protection insurance, first-time loans, and junior savers accounts. Additionally, we offer modern conveniences such as a mobile app, digital loan applications, payment services, savings accounts, bill pay, and mobile banking.”
