A man has been arrested following the death of a woman in Gorey, Co Wexford.
The woman, who was in her 30s, was found unresponsive after gardaí and emergency services were called to an incident at a home in the Baile Eoghain area shortly after 3am this morning.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being held at a garda station in the east of the country.
Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
A technical examination of the scene will be carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau this morning.
The Office of the State Pathologist and local coroner have been notified and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out on the woman’s body.
Speaking to RTE News, Wexford TD Brian Brennan described the woman’s death as a terrible tragedy.
