Popular Letterkenny man John Wallace is spreading festive wishes to all after benefitting from wonderful community support after a devastating fire.
John, a long-standing team member at Cosgrove’s Centra (formerly Kelly’s) at Mountain Top, suffered the loss of his home and all of his belongings in a fire at the end of November.
His colleagues at Cosgrove’s wanted to help John in his hour of need and quickly set up a GoFundMe campaign, which received over €32,000 in donations in recent weeks.
Hundreds of people rushed to donate to John, a man who is a friend to all, with “one of the most warmest hearts in Letterkenny”.
John has been back at work greeting and helping customers in the festive rush, but this week he took a moment to express his gratitude to everyone for their support.
In a festive video message, John said: “I just want to say thanks so much to you all for all the support and messages, requests and all the kind donations. Very much appreciated.
“Happy Christmas everyone.”
