Daniel enjoys peaceful family Christmas in Donegal

Daniel O’Donnell spent his Christmas Day tucked away in his beloved Kincasslagh with his family.

The singing star enjoyed Christmas dinner with his wife Majella and their three grandkids, Olivia, Archie and Luke, this year.

They were joined by Majella’s daughter Siobhan and her husband Gavin.

The celebrity couple had spent last year in Siobhan’s house in Banbridge in Co Down but decided to bring everyone back to Donegal for this year’s festive season.

Daniel posted the above picture on his official Facebook page and wished everyone a very happy Christmas.

Although the dinner may have looked beautiful, Daniel was certainly not taking any praise but he promises he did do the dishes!

He told RSVP magazine”I won’t be cooking anyway, otherwise everyone would be starving. I don’t cook at all. I will wash the dishes.

“Majella is a great cook and so is Siobhan’s husband Gavin. Between them all, we won’t starve.”

For Daniel, it is lovely to spend the day with his grandkids.

He said: “Seeing the magic of Christmas unfolding in front of me with the kids around is absolutely brilliant. They really make Christmas, there’s no doubt about it”

He said: “It is such a beautiful Christmas carol. I also love David Essex’s A Winter’s Tale. It’s a lovely song.

“Movie wise, The Sound of Music always reminds me of Christmas. I know it’s not a Christmas movie as such, but it’s always played at that time of the year.

“I just love it – it’s my favourite movie of all time”

Daniel sings at his local church every year.

He said: “It’s so lovely at Christmas time because I grew up singing in the choir all my life.

“It’s so special to be part of the choir, especially during the festive season.”
