A husband and wife have been confirmed as the two people who died after a hit-and-run in Blanchardstown in Dublin yesterday.

They have been named locally as 40-year-old Anthony Hogg and Georgina Hogg Moore, who was 39, according to RTE News.

A man has been arrested following the incident near the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre.

A car hit four pedestrians who were crossing the road, on Blanchardstown Road North, at around 5.45pm yesterday.

Mrs Hogg Moore was pronounced dead at the scene and Mr Hogg was seriously injured and later died in hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

A man in his 40s was arrested by gardaí late last night in connection with the incident and is being held at a garda station in Dublin.
