SN na Dúchoraidh students share Christmas goodwill with Friends of LUH

The spirit of giving, helping and generosity is very much alive in SN na Dúchoraidh.

Just before the Christmas break the pupils raised funds for school playground equipment.

With guidance from their teachers and using their own initiative and imagination, the student council organised a Christmas ‘bake off’ as part of the Doochary Christmas craft fair.

A strong tradition of raising money for charity has developed in the school over the years. The effect of this has been two-fold, the obvious being the raising and presenting to the many charities which benefit. Equally important is the educational process in identifying the many charities that would benefit.

On this occasion the pupils decided to impart €50 of their monies raised to a worthy local charity ‘Friends of Letterkenny University Hospital’.

“Thanks to their teacher Máistreás Angela Uí Ferraigh who led the initiative, pupils, parents and staff of the school and everyone that supported us. A special word of thanks to the Doochary Development Committee who sponsored the table at the Christmas Craft Fair. Go raibh maith agaibh go léir.”
