Gardaí believe a fire that destroyed a mobile home in Ramelton last week was started deliberately.

The incident occurred in the area Castleshanaghan, in the early hours of Thursday the 2 nd of January. At approximately 4.10am, guards were alerted to the fact that a mobile home was on fire in that area and the fire services also attended the scene.

“The mobile home was destroyed as a result of the incident. It is believed that the fire may have been started deliberately,” a garda spokesperson said.

They are appealing to anybody who may have travelled in that area with a dash cam between 3am and 4am to make the footage available to Gardaí.

Should anyone have relevant information, they are asked to contact Gardaí in Milford on 074-9153060 or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.
