Two call-outs have been issued for gritters in Donegal tonight as temperatures drop even further.
It will be a bitterly cold night with severe frost and ice in many areas of the county.
Met Eireann is forecasting temperatures of -6 to -2 degrees in northern counties. More wintry showers are also due in parts of the north and west.
As a result, Donegal County Council has decided to treat all main routes twice today – from 4pm and again from 8pm. The gritting team will be out again tomorrow morning (Thursday) from 6am.
