It’s exciting enough to travel to BT Young Scientist and Technology Awards any year.

But when you just happen to bump into President Michael D Higgins then that’s just extra special.

That’s exactly what happened to Coláiste Ailigh, Letterkenny students Faye Ní Ghallachóir, Ava Ní Giolla Chomghaill and Sarah Rose Ní Earchaí at the RDS.

The students were part of a larger group from Coláiste Ailigh who landed with three projects at the RDS for the 2025 BT Young Scientist and Technology Awards.

Pictured above are the overall group from left: Siún Ní Dhomhnaill, Lorcán Ó Fearáil, Ella Homer, Fianna Ní Ghaotháin, Faith-Leigh Bomagh, Síofra Ní Chnáimhsí, Ava Ní Giolla Chomghaill, Faye Ní Ghallachóir, Sarah Rose Ní Earchaí.
