Numerous schools across Donegal are closed today, Thursday, due to hazardous road conditions.
Overnight snow and further frost have left roads blanketed white and treacherous in places.
A large number of schools throughout the county, both north and south, have made the decision to remain closed. Online learning arrangements have been implemented for some post-primary students.
Parents are urged to check for messages and instructions from their children’s schools and preschools.
Donegal County Council gritters have been treating the main routes since 6am, however motorists are advised to assume no road is ice-free.
