ATU Donegal’s Fashion Design with Promotion student, MickyJoe Towns from Miford, is set to appear as a contestant on a new sustainable fashion series Síorstíl on TG4.

The show which begins on Wednesday 15th Jan at 8.30pm, also features environmental activist Moya Doogan from Moville as a judge.

MickyJoe went through a number of interviews before he was selected as one of the final six Síorstíl competitors.

Síorstíl, a revolutionary fashion competition, challenges six talented competitors to transform second-hand and recycled materials into new fashion garment each week.

Síorstíl on TG4 is not just a competition but a movement to rethink how we approach fashion in the modern world. This is just one of the many skills that graduates studying on the BA in Fashion Design with Promotion programme perfect.

The degree programme places an emphasis on sustainable practices in fashion and students are encouraged to design with circularity at the core of their design thinking.

His lecturers, Sharon Maxwell and Eilish Kennedy said: “Best of luck to MickyJoe and well done on such a fantastic achievement!”
