The family and friends of a young Donegal man injured in a road traffic accident have launched a fundraiser to help aid his recovery.

Paul Harron was involved in a serious road traffic accident on New Year’s Day.

The well-liked young man has had family and friends gather around him for support in the days and weeks following the incident.

Paul, who had recently qualified as an electrician, was paralysed from the waist down and suffered other life-changing injuries.

He required around-the-clock care in ICU in the Mater Hospital, Dublin following the accident.

Now he will have an extended stay in the hospital’s spinal unit as he needs specialised care, with the next stage of his rehab involving intensive physiotherapy in Dun Laoghaire.

An online fundraiser has been launched on behalf of Paul to raise the funds necessary for his recovery.
