A man aged in his forties is dead after an overnight collision in County Cavan.
The man, who was a pedestrian, was struck by a car on the N54 at Plush, Cloverhill.
His body was transferred to Cavan General Hospital where a post-mortem will take place in due course.
Gardaí say the incident occurred shortly after 10:45pm last night.
Another man aged in his twenties, the driver of the car involved in the collision, was uninjured.
The scene is currently being preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators today.
Anyone who witnessed the crash has been asked to come forward.
