Gardaí issue fresh appeal over fatal Buncrana collision

Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal for information following last week’s Inishowen collision which resulted in the death of a local pensioner.

Rose Byrne, of Mill Brae, Buncrana, died from her injuries following a collision between a car and two pedestrians in the town on Tuesday afternoon last.

Mrs Bryne, aged in her 80s, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital but sadly passed away on Sunday.

A much-loved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, she will be laid to rest tomorrow.

Gardaí continue to appeal for witnesses to the tragedy to come forward.

Road users who were travelling on Main Street, Buncrana, between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Tuesday, 14th January 2025, are urged to contact Gardaí if they have any information or dash-cam footage.
