Gardaí are seeking to identify a driver involved in a hit-and-run collision in Stranorlar on Thursday last.

The collision between a car and a van occurred on 23rd of January at approx. 8.15am.

The driver of a White Ford Transit was travelling on the N13 (Letterkenny Road) in Stranorlar towards Letterkenny when a dark coloured car (which gardaí say was possibly a Ford Focus) struck the side of his van as they exited from a side road onto the N13 (Across from the old Nena Models Factory).

The driver of said car then travelled onwards towards Mc Clays corner in Stranorlar. They did not stop or return to the scene.

Gardaí have confirmed that the driver of the van was not hurt.

A spokesperson said: “We appeal to other road users who were on that busy stretch of road to get in touch with us if they had a dash cam or if they witnessed the collision. We also appeal to the driver of the car in question to get in touch with Gardaí as CCTV is being viewed from the area in an attempt to identify them. Gardaí in Letterkenny may be contacted on 074-9167100 in relation to the incident.”
