Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a 13-year-old boy suffered a suspected fall from an e-scooter in Buncrana.

The boy remains in a serious condition in Letterkenny Hospital following the incident at Linsfort yesterday evening.

The road is closed today as Forensic Collision Investigators examine the scheme.

Shortly after 4.45pm, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted after a boy was found unresponsive after an apparent fall from an e-scooter.

He was treated at the scene before being transported by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital.

Gardaí say that the results of the forensic examination will determine the cause of the incident.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were traveling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Buncrana Garda Station on 074 932 0540, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
