McConalogue set to get Junior Minister gig in new cabinet

It’s been reported that Donegal TD Charlie McConalogue could be in pole position to take one of the key remaining Junior Minister jobs in the newly-formed government.

McConalogue lost his role as the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine in the new cabinet, the role instead being given to Kildare TD Martin Heydon of Fine Gael.

However, Charlie has been tipped for one of the top remaining junior ministerial gigs.

The Donegal TD is primed to take up a role as the Minister of State for Sport, one of the most sought-after junior appointments.
