Niall Blaney has managed to retain his seat on the Agriculture Panel in the Seanad elections.

The former Fianna Fail TD has held the position since 2020.

However, Fine Gael’s Jimmy Kavanagh was unsuccessful in his bid to get elected on the Labour Panel. He managed to secure more than 24,000 votes, but was eliminated after the eighth count.

Counting has yet to commence on the Administrative Panel for which Ardara-based Eileen Flynn is contesting.
