A teenage girl has tragically died after being rescued from a Co Derry river at the weekend.

She has been named as Imogen Cleary-Vong.

The 15-year-old was reported missing in the water of Moyola River in Castledawson at around 5am on Sunday morning.

Emergency services attended the scene and the teenager was rescued from the water. She sadly died in hospital a time later.

Imogen was the beloved daughter of Michael and Pauline, loving sister of Dylan and Cody. Imogen was a student at St Mary’s Grammar School in Magherafelt,

“Deeply regretted by her father, mother, brothers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family circle and friends.”

Imogen’s funeral arrangements will be announced later in the week.
