Six hardy men from Donegal, Mayo and Galway have completed a Mizen to Malin tractor run driving vintage Massey Ferguson 135s!

The charity challenge came to a triumphant end for the group at Malin Head yesterday.

Philip Robb from Raphoe, Tomàs O’Malley, Philip Hastings, Dominick McGreal, David Hastings all from Westport, and Jamie Langan, from Corofin Co Galway set off on their journey from Cork on 29th January.

Five days and 710km later, the sun came out for them to celebrate the completion of a superb run that has raised over €51,000 for charity so far.

Gardaí from the Buncrana Community Policing Unit say they were honoured to assist the men on their final stretch.

“It was wonderful to see so much community support for these six men and for their very worthy causes. A massive well done to all involved!” said a garda spokesperson.

The benefitting causes are the Cancer Fund for Children and Daisy Lodge Mayo, Gena Heraty’s Special Needs Programmes in Haiti and the Mayo-Roscommon Hospice.
