A potentially dangerous roof was secured in Newtowncunningham today after a community appeal.

Loose roof sheets were spotted hanging precariously from a vacant Main Street building, prompting Councillor Paul Canning to request help from anyone with a teleporter.

Pedestrians were also advised to avoid the area.

Following a swift local response, Cllr Canning announced after lunchtime that the situation had been successfully resolved. “Panic over,” he announced. “Job sorted. Thanks to everyone that offered their help privately.”
