Gardaí are appealing for information after a quantity of heating oil was stolen from the rear of a Ballybofey house.

They recently received a report from a resident of the Blue Cedars estate in relation to the theft which is believed to have occurred between Friday the 24th of January and Saturday February 1.

The resident noticed that the cap from the oil tank was laying on the ground and he checked the tank to discover that it was almost empty.

“We appeal to other residents in that area to make contact with us if they observed any type of suspicious activity in the area between those dates,” Garda Sergeant Charlene Anderson said.

Gardaí in Letterkenny can be reached on 074 9167100 with relevant information. The Garda Confidential Line may also be contacted on 1800 666 111.
