Letterkenny Golf Club President Hugh McClafferty delivered a presentation to Brian O’Reilly, awarding him Honorary Membership.

Last Friday night’s event was a testament to O’Reilly’s unwavering commitment and contributions, which have significantly shaped the club’s success over the years.

The presentation took place in the presence of esteemed club members and officials, all gathered to celebrate O’Reilly’s well-earned honor.

In the accompanying photo, several distinguished figures from the club were present to mark the occasion. Past Captain Paul Carr, Lady Captain Pauline Curley, Ronat O’Reilly, Brian O’Reilly, and President Hugh McClafferty stood alongside the honoree, sharing in the moment of recognition.

Saturday Open – 1st of February

Congratulations to Peter Doherty (38pts) on his one-shot victory in our recent Saturday Open. Peter held off stiff competition from Adrian Daly (37 pts) and Kevin Kiely (37 pts). Kevin had a wonderful 2 on the fifth hole that almost secured him the victory! Shaun Duffy secured the gross prize with 33 gross points. A final word goes to Ed Margey, an excellent pair of 2s on the fifth and sixteenth holes put a nice gloss on his score.

Sunday Texas Scramble – 2nd of February

The superb team of Ciaran Haran, Kevin Rafferty, John Paul Clarke and Shane Scanlan secured victory in our first Texas scramble of the year with a score of 52 points. A costly par on the final hole left the formidable team of Peter Doherty, Hugh Herrity, Enda Mannion and Michael Collum in second place. Third place went to Martin Kelly, Tony Duffy, Brian Carney and Liam Sweeney.

Captain’s Drive-In 2025

The ceremonial Captains Drive-In will take place on February 16th. The format for the event will be a mixed random Texas scramble. The Captains and President Hugh will tee off at 10:30, with a shotgun start at 11 o’clock at the assigned tee.

Tea and coffee will be available from 9:15 to 10:20 before tee-off. To register for the day, please call the shop or sign your name on the timesheet in the shop. Please write names in capital print to ensure correct player entry. The closing date for entry is Thursday 13th at 3pm.
