Buncrana’s Children’s Charity (BCC) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) last night, gathering community members, supporters, and volunteers to celebrate another year of meaningful progress and to look ahead to an exciting future.

The charity expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has contributed to its success, highlighting the importance of the continued support from local businesses, volunteers, and individuals.

Their generosity makes it possible for BCC to continue helping children and families in need throughout Inishowen.

“Your kindness allows us to help children in need, and we truly couldn’t do it without you,” said Adrian McMyler, Chairperson of Buncrana’s Children’s Charity.

A key focus of the AGM was the charity’s commitment to extending its reach beyond Buncrana to the entire Inishowen Peninsula.

BCC is dedicated to ensuring families across the region are aware that help is available right on their doorstep, and the charity continues to work hard to raise awareness of its services to all communities in Inishowen.

Looking ahead, Buncrana’s Children’s Charity is gearing up for a very special milestone: its 10th anniversary as a registered charity in 2026. Although the celebrations are still in the planning stages, the charity shared with attendees that a series of exciting events will take place in 2026 to mark the occasion. These events will not only celebrate a decade of service but also raise awareness of BCC’s vital work across the region.

“We’re thrilled to start planning for our 10th anniversary in 2026. This is a huge milestone for us, and we can’t wait to celebrate with the entire Inishowen community,” said Adrian McMyler.

The AGM also included the re-election of key committee members, ensuring the charity’s leadership remains strong and focused on its mission. Special thanks were given to Cllr Fionan Bradley for stepping in as Interim Chairperson during the re-election process.

The full list of re-elected committee members includes:

• Chairperson: Adrian McMyler

• Vice Chairperson: Caitlin Crossan

• Secretary: Majella McLaughlin

• Vice Secretary: Sharon McLaughlin

• Treasurer: Martina Duncan

• Vice Treasurer: Patricia Ferguson

• PRO: Amanda Nelson

• Vice PRO: Catherine O’Donnell

• Shop Manager: Patricia Ferguson

• Nominations Admin: Tanya McLaughlin

• Fundraising & Development: Caitlin Crossan

• Health & Wellbeing Officer: Adrian McMyler

As the charity looks ahead to its 10th anniversary, it remains dedicated to ensuring every child and family in Inishowen has access to the support they need. BCC is incredibly grateful to all who have supported its work and looks forward to another year of making a difference in the community.

“We’re excited for what the future holds and look forward to continuing our work together with all of you,” concluded Adrian McMyler.
