Ambitious plans are to be lodged with the council for a major tourism development on the outskirts of Donegal Town.

Local man, Seamus Quinn, is seeking planning permission for almost 70 log cabins at Revlin, just past the Four Masters GAA grounds, on the Mountcharles road.

The proposed development on the 27 acre site overlooking Donegal Bay will consist of 68 one and two-storey cabins.

The proposal also includes a 20-seat cinema, restaurant, a separate block with 20 bedrooms, gym, spa, as well as two tennis courts and 77 parking spaces.

Previously, planning permission had been granted for a nursing home and holiday chalets on the same site.
