A popular bar & restaurant in Downings is set for an ownership change.

The Ocean View Bar & Restaurant is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, and for the last five years has been operated by owners Barry and Ale.

However, they’ve announced that they are moving on to other endeavours as a new management team is now being saught to take over operating the business.

“Very sad to announce that our time in Ocean View has come to an end,” they posted via social media yesterday.

“We have had some amazing nights and made some great friends over the last 5 years but unfortunately due to other work commitments we just don’t have the time to give it our full attention.”

“We would like to say a massive thank you to all our loyal customers and amazing staff that made Ocean View such a great success.”

However, plans are in place for the closure of the Ocean View to be temporary, with plans for it to re-open in the coming months.

“The Ocean View is going nowhere and hopes to welcome a new management team in the very near future and have everything back open in time for the Easter Holidays.”

“Thanks again for all your support,” Barry and Ale concluded.
