An appeal is underway to find those responsible for dumping sofas and other household items on Fahan Beach.

The dumping was reported on Saturday, with a sofa seat, armchair, speakers and shoes among the debris.

Councillor Terry Crossan has condemned the mess as a “disgusting incident”.

He urged members of the public to report any information to either Donegal County Council, An Gardaí or himself.

Cllr Crossan pointed out the Fahan is a Blue Flag beach, adding: “Remember that it takes public money to clear this up.”
