Gardaí investigating a fatal road collision in Liscooley last November are now seeking to find two motorists who were close to the scene.

An appeal is underway to identify the owners of two vehicles which were in a nearby filling station around the time of the collision on the night of Friday, 22nd November, 2024

Gardaí stress that neither vehicle was involved in the collision, but the occupants may have valuable information to share.

Three people lost their lives in the collision on the N15 at Liscooley, which occurred at around 10am on 22nd of November.

Local man Samuel Hunter, of Murlog, Lifford, aged in his 70s, passed away from his injuries in hospital in the days following the incident. His wife, who was also involved in the collision, survived with serious injuries.

Two men from Castlederg, Ryan Glenn, 25, and Gordy Galbraith, 38, died at the scene.

As the investigation continues, Gardaí are hoping to get further information from the owners of two vehicles captured on CCTV at the ‘Go’ filling station (approximately 100 metres from the collision site) on the night in question.

One vehicle, believed to be a dark Skoda or Audi estate, exited the filling station and turned left towards Castlefinn. The second vehicle (a dark SUV, possibly a Toyota), left the filling station soon after.

Gardaí are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area of the N15 at Liscooley at approximately 10pm to make this footage available to Gardaí.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074 916 7100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
