McConalogue to represent Ireland in Colombia this St Patrick’s Day

Junior Minister Charlie McConalogue will be making his way to Colombia to promote Ireland this St. Patrick’s Day.

The visit aims to celebrate Ireland’s ties to the Latin American nation in trade, history, culture and people.

Colombia is home to a growing community of Irish people, and Ireland has over 1,000 Colombians living here.

McConalogue was appointed the Minister of State for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media in January.

This year, 38 representatives of the State will visit more than 90 cities in 40 countries.

An Taoiseach Micheál Martin will travel to Texas and Washington DC, while Tánaiste Simon Harris will visit Philadelphia and New York.

The overall message of St Patrick’s Day 2025 visits will focus on Ireland’s outlook and attractiveness as a small, open trading economy.
