There has been a sharp rise in the numbers of people on a waiting list for treatment at Letterkenny University Hospital.
The latest set of HSE figures for January show that the waiting list for in-patient and day case treatment at the hospital rose by 25 percent in just a single month.
A total of 1,832 people are on the in-patient and day case treatment waiting list for Letterkenny, consisting of 1,781 adults and 51 children.
Meanwhile the outpatient waiting list figure is nearly at 15,000 people.
A total of 14,907 people are now awaiting outpatient treatment at Letterkenny University Hospital.
That figure has also ballooned when compared to December’s figure, with 1,152 more patients on the outpatient waiting list compared to December.
