Former Donegal TD and Minister Joe McHugh has officially launched a new book detailing his journey in learning the Irish language.

The launch of the book, titled Beidh Tú Alright, took place at Letterkenny Shopping Centre over the weekend, with plenty of people stopping by to grab a signed copy.

The bilingual book details his journey in learning the Irish language.

It details the unique situation which the former Minister found himself in when in 2014 he was appointed as the Minister for the Gaeltacht – in spite of his Gaelige being limited.

Beidh Tú Alright  details McHugh’s journey in learning and reconnecting with his native language, including the challenges he faced in learning the language as an adult.

He also offers advice to anyone wishing to start their own language-learning journey, and details the cultural connections he found through the learning and use of Irish.
