The winners of the Gaoth Dobhair Credit Union Quiz were crowned last week, with a huge turnout from the very brightest young minds in the area.

With trophies up for grabs in the Under 11 and Under 13 categories, competition was fierce with a total of 23 teams from 10 schools participating.

The team from Scoil Adhamhnáin Luinnigh took first place in the Under 11 competition, with Scoil Fhionáin Fál Carrach taking 2nd place.

Meanwhile in the Under 13 category it took a tiebreaker to separate the top two teams, who both happened to be from the same school!

In the end Scoil Chnoc na Naomh Doire Chonaire claimed both first and second place with their two teams.

The first-placed teams will now go to the regional final in Letterkenny, which takes place on the 9th of March.

“The concentration and excitement was amazing. We would like to thank all the schools who took part, with special thanks to all the students, family and friends who came and supported the teams,” Gaoth Dobhair Credit Union said.

“From all of us at Comhar Creidmheasa Ghaoth Dobhair we wish the 1st place teams good luck as they go through to the regional final in Letterkenny on 9th March.”
