Gardaí have made an appeal for information after a number of burglaries in the Manorcunningham area in the last week.

The first burglary took place at a house in Drumcairn, Manorcunningham on Friday the 14th of February, between 6:45pm and 7:15pm.

Gardaí say that the lock on the back door of the house was forced open and entry was gained, before a bedroom inside was ransacked and a sum of cash was stolen.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area, or anyone who was travelling in the Drumcairn area between those times and has dashcam footage to come forward to Gardaí in Letterkenny.

They are particularly interested in any sightings or dashcam footage of a grey Volkswagen Polo that was believed to be in the area at those times.

Gardaí have also made an appeal for information relating to another burglary that happened in the nearby townland of Raymoghy, Manorcunningham.

The back door of a house was forced open, and a number of rooms were ransacked – however nothing was stolen during the break-in.

They are appealing to anybody who may have observed suspicious activity or vehicles in the Raymochy area, between 5:15pm on Friday the 14th of February, and 10:30am on Saturday the 15th to come forward.
