A five-year-old boy is continuing to receive treatment in hospital today following a serious collision in Largy yesterday evening.

The boy was struck by a vehicle at around 5pm on Friday evening on the R263 road between Kilcar and Killybegs.

He was immediately rushed to Sligo General Hospital.

The road remains closed this Saturday afternoon to preserve the scene for examination by Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí continue to have diversions in place.
