A man in his sixties has died in a workplace accident in Newtowncunningham this afternoon.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the incident at a premises at around 1pm today.
The man, who is believed to be in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body will be removed and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified and will attend the scene, which remains preserved. A file will also be prepared for the Coroner’s Court.
Investigations are ongoing, according to a spokesperson for the Garda Press Office.
