A number of Donegal Gardaí, past and present, were honoured at the Garda National Sports Awards in Letterkenny last night.
The Mount Errigal Hotel was packed out, especially so as Donegal Manager Jim McGuinness was the night’s special guest.
Current Donegal and St Eunan’s GAA star Shaun Patton was given the GAA Award after a superb season.
The Garda Golf Society Donegal were also winners, as they took home Team of the Year honours.
There were two other award winners from Donegal on the night, as retired Garda Mick Murphy was given the Special Contribution to Sport, and Garda Robert McCallion (RIP) was awarded the Posthumous Award.
