Mrs Brown’s Boys star Danny O’Carroll got the surprise of his life when his dad Brendan jetted in from the States to surprise him on Dancing with the Stars.

Dubliner Danny, who lives in Donegal, was rehearsing for last night’s semi-finals when Brendan sneaked into the studio.

Brendan O’Carroll, who lives in Florida with his wife Jenny, hadn’t been home since Danny started on the competition.

Danny was reduced to tears to see his dad again at this pivotal point in the show.

“He made it home for semi finals… Thank you Dad,” Danny captioned the video on his Instagram.

Danny successfully earned a place in the finals of this year’s contest after a semi-final full of electrifying performances on last night’s Fright Night.

Aishah Akorede and their pro dance partner Robert Rowiński became the next celebrity couple to bid farewell to the dance floor.

Danny O’Carroll and his pro dancer Salome Chachua slithered onto the dance floor with a snake-themed Tango to Poison by Alice Cooper, earning 35 points.
