Planning permission is being sought for the conversion of a former post office in Buncrana.

Patrick Doherty has applied to Donegal County Council for a ‘change of use’ of the premises at Drumminderry so that it can be used as a residential dwelling.

He is also seeking permission for the construction of an extension to the building.

Known as The Illies Post Office, it closed its doors for the last time over a decade ago.
