The launch of a new Swilly Sisters’ Shed was a huge success this week, with nearly 70 attendees gathering in Rathmullan.
The new shed invites women aged 18 and over from Rathmullan, Ray, Ramelton, Kerrykeel, Portsalon, Fanad, Milford, and surrounding areas to get involved to engage in activities, learn new skills, and build friendships.
The atmosphere in the St. Vincent de Paul Centre at Tuesday’s launch was described as one of genuine friendship and lively “craic,” with attendees enjoying tea and cake.

The launch was made possible by the support of the Donegal Local Development Company, with Karen McGinley present to represent the organisation.
The evening also featured special guests Bridget Duffy and Bernadette Hunter from the Cranford Women’s group who spoke about the activities of Cranford Women’s Group over the past 25 years, sharing their experiences and insights.
The Swilly Sisters are now looking forward to the future, with “exciting plans on the horizon” and a clear “Spring Forward” motion.
Starting next week, Tuesday meetings will now commence at 7 pm to accommodate those relying on the Local Link service.
